Overview

Google AdWords is a Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising platform that businesses can use to promote their websites on Google Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). This offers a very targeted and trackable advertising channel whereby clients have total control over their budget & spend. Payment is only taken when an advert is clicked regardless of how many times it is shown.

Google AdWords works by building a campaign for a chosen product or service and then bidding on a number of keywords in order to have an advert show for search terms related to those keywords. Adverts are ranked depending on the amount bid and the quality score of the campaign. This means that if a campaign has a very good quality score, a lower bid will be required to reach the same position as a campaign with a low quality score but much higher bid.

Without the right knowledge, Google AdWords campaigns can cost a lot to run yet produce very little results. Therefore it is essential to have someone who knows what they’re doing.
